Text Drivers are Killers

Joe Biden - "Time to put Trump in the bullseye."
Big Pharma bribed the legislators into passing this and will now get into the biz and make a fortune. Will undoubtedly result in more druggies on the job and on the highways.

feb 1 2021 Now Gullickson, executive director of the Mental Health & Addiction Association of Oregon, is determined to give other addicts the same opportunity. That’s why she pushed for the passage of Measure 110, first-of-its-kind legislation that decriminalizes the possession of all illegal drugs in Oregon, including heroin, cocaine, meth and oxycodone. Instead of a criminal-justice-based approach, the state will pivot to a health-care-based approach, offering addicts treatment instead of prison time. Those in possession will be fined $100, a citation that will be dropped if they agree to a health assessment.

The law goes into effect Monday and will be implemented over the next decade by the state officials at the Oregon Health Authority.

Libertarian is the only sane drug policy..it's never going to go away -it has to be managed as a health problem

:palm:

Unfettered access to addictive substances isn't going to help, is it?

Murder is never going to go away...

Rape is never going to go away...

it's called harm reduction -crime come from people tying to get dope, or turf wars,,
and then there are the cartels.. all that goes away with legalization

Who told you that?

Better check with the Swiss, or the Dutch.

BTW, "decriminalization" is not "legalization".

I realize that. why i used legalization instead of deciminalization.
I mean go libertarian all the way -although decrimalization would be a big help.

Last time I looked Dutch didnt do anything in regards to hard drugs ( unlike weed)- maybe reduced possession
but the drug trade goes on

They'll have to hire an army of hitmen to compete with the cartels that will move there first... Why make the stuff in Mexico when you can do it in Oregon and not even have to use illegals to mule across the border?

What, exactly, is the problem? It will end the drug cartel businesses south of the border. Isn't that a good thing?

No not really...and this is not legalization it is decriminalization....Pay Attention.

Under the right conditions I might very well be for something like this but not now, not when it is part of a clear societal destruction program from the Regressive Left.

I assume they will still need a prescription to get it legally.

Your assumption is incorrect.

Oregon will be the first state to eliminate criminal penalties — currently classified as misdemeanors — for the possession of small quantities of specific drugs by both adults and juveniles.
The following are the substance possession amounts that would result in fines for both adults and juveniles:

Heroin (1 gram or less).
Cocaine (2 grams or less).
Methamphetamine (2 grams or less).
MDMA/ecstasy (less than 1 gram or five pills).
LSD (less than 40 user units).
Psilocybin (less than 12 grams).
Methadone (less than 40 user units).
Oxycodone (less than 40 pills, tablets or capsules).

There would be no change to the criminal code for delivery, manufacture and other commercial drug offenses.

"I think Oregonians made it clear that they support a more humane, effective approach to drug addiction," Anthony Johnson, one of the measure's chief petitioners, said. "We took a huge step for funding more treatment and recovery services, and for ending racist drug war policies."

So, you see, addicts will still need to steal or prostitute themselves to buy drugs, and the dealers will continue to supply them.

Also, now you know that the decriminalization of drug use is racism.
