Two arrested in assault on police officer Brian D. Sicknick, who died after Jan. 6

U.S. authorities have arrested and charged two men with assaulting U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian D. Sicknick with bear spray during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot but have not determined whether the exposure caused his death.

Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania, and George Pierre Tanios, 39 of Morgantown, W.Va., were arrested Sunday and are expected to appear in federal court Monday

This is just the tip of the iceberg,

Politifact lol.

If politifact or anyone else wants to make *the positive assertion* that it was an armed insurrection it’s up to them to support the claim by showing evidence of firearms within the building because that it where the alleged insurrection occurred.

Failing that, they can try and drive the insurrection narrative but with conceding the fact there weren’t any firearms found on the perps. And be forthright about it, instead of gaslighting people.

Are you seriously going to try to white wash the heinous crimes perpetrated by these pro-Trump fanatics??????????????????????

Arms meaning armed with weapons. That they were. Some brought. Some stolen on site.

Khater and Tanios are charged with nine counts including assaulting Sicknick, a U.S. Capitol Police officer identified as C. Edwards and a D.C. police officer identified as B. Chapman with a deadly weapon. They are also charged with civil disorder and obstruction of a Congressional proceeding. The charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
I do not think bear spray is intended or recommended to be shot point blank in a humans face.

That cannot be good for anyone with asthma, respiratory conditions, etc.

The bigger question is: what is wrong with conservatives?? What kind of rabid animals shoot bear spray point blank in a cop's face when they are simply doing their job of guarding a lawful session of Congress?

Yeah, I saw that this morning and I'm glad. The justice department is knockin these people down left and right for what ever the law will allow and that's a good thing, because they will forever have records which will be tied to the insurrection and they will be watched for the rest of their lives. The big charges are going to come for the Oath Keepers and Prod Boys. The far right-wing is done in this country; we've had enough of them.

History will simply repeat itself.

For a short time the extremists go underground. FBI and police priorities move on to the next public issue. Political enablers of the extremists start to complain that the extremists were being unfairly persecuted and prosecuted. In the interest of "fairness" the extremists are given a pass and some of them in jail will be pardoned. The extremists re-emerge as some sort of alternative hero and push their extremist viewpoints into the mainstream. A political leader that agrees with the extremists makes the extremists seem relevant. The extremists try to push their extremist viewpoint onto everyone else by force if necessary.

Anyone endorsing violence against the US government is a traitor.

Disagreed. Most Conservatives are good, law-abiding citizens.

OTOH, anyone who attacks law enforcement, commits vandalism or otherwise breaks the law should be held accountable for their actions.

It is a good point, but even the conservatives on this forum are minimizing, making excuses, disregarding the disgraceful insurrection their president inspired.

One conservative here even posted a thread entitled "Storm the Bastille!" as an act of solidarity with the insurrectionists, and that post was thanked by numerous conservatives here.

Care to make a money wager, loser donates the winnings to JPP in the winner's name, on the convictions for certain Insurrectionists?

Mainly the two suspects who attacked Officer Sicknick? You bet $20 that they are "100% not guilty" like OJ and I bet $20 they'll be sentenced to over 5 years for assaulting police officers, among other things. Deal?

Fine, then hammer the shit out of the Trump-supporting "conservatives", but IMO, no "conservative" ever supports insurrection, murder, attacking police, attacking other Americans, vandalism or spreading lies about other Americans. Ergo, none of those doing so on JPP are "conservatives". They're just Trump and domestic terrorist supporters.

Possibly, but I think even the Congressional Republicans were greatly disturbed by the attack and the threats against both themselves and the Vice President.

What we see playing out on C-SPAN and what changes occur in the laws and military recruitment/retention are going to be two different things.

Bear spray WOW..not a deadly weapon

According to HowStuffWorks, the effects of bear spray on humans include temporary blindness, breathing difficulty, swelling of the face, burning eyes and lungs, swollen mucous membranes and nasal irritation. Bear spray contains capsaicin, the same ingredient in human defensive pepper sprays. Bear spray does not cause permanent injury to humans or bears.

Is It Illegal to Use Bear Spray on Humans?

Before you use bear spray on human you have to read this post. The bear deterrent is designed to prevent from bear attack. You might question yourself if it is legal to use it on humans. Well, if you live in the US, then you can legally use bear pepper spray on humans.

Short time could be anywhere from 5-15 years. It took 25 years to get from the OK City bombing to the Capitol attack. But it only took about 5 years after OK City bombing before conservatives were complaining about the FBI unfairly going after militias.

No surprise you think police officers deserve to be assaulted. You're a piece of shit.

A Portland Police Sergeant was sent to the hospital after being assaulted, and at least 5 officers were sprayed by a chemical irritant during an unlawful assembly in the Kenton Neighborhood. On Monday, September 28, 2020, Portland Police

Molotov cocktails, other objects thrown at law enforcement during downtown Portland riot

Many many many Many many many Many many many Many many many more

Link to your outcry

What is your point? People has the right to assault cops?

u didn't care till now! u didnt care all summer or about this week in Portland

u only care when u think Trump people are reasonable...u have never ever posted about cops be assaulted this summer in Portland and many other cities

Never heard u say one thing about the 5 Dallas cops ambushed and killed..the killer stated that he wanted to kill white people, especially white police officers.

The story specifically notes that nobody has been charged in his death though and says it is "unknown if anybody will ever be charged in his death"...

These guys are being charged for spraying him with bear spray, which is absolutely an assault and they should be charged. But it appears that the "he was beaten to death with a fire extinguisher" story is 100% false.

I am not defending these two, not at all in fact.. I am only pointing out the story of a cop beaten to death with a fire extinguisher on that particular day seems to have been wholly made up and is more fiction than news.
