Hiroshima, 6 August 1945

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Leaders have to give the orders, but is there any doubt that after Dec 7th and 9/11 that Americans wanted their leaders to destroy our enemies?

Wars are actions done as a last resort and always should be the last resort. I've always felt women make the best diplomats but when it comes time for war, they need to pass it over to the military, mainly men. Assign them a mission goal and get out of their way.

I wanted the people behind 911 brought to justice. It was a terrible crime, not a military attack. No nation attacked us. It was terrorism carried out by a rogue group. That group and it's leader were our enemy, not the Taliban.

I disagreed with the Afghanistan War before we ever started it, and always have. Now, it's looking like another Vietnam, another failure, a US hopeless military blunder, (forced by dumb civilian decision making) another example to the world that our forces can't simply go in and dominate a low-tech un-uniformed gang of hidden combatants that mixes with the local civilian public.

fuck off with that noise. Lots of good men "weaseled out". Trump included. but also Clinton
I give no quarter to revisionists who decry draft dodgers unless your as was on the line -then you have a right tocriticize
Obviously your's wasn't involved

Of course it wasn't. As a female, I wasn't subject to the draft, plus I was in h.s. at the time. However, both of my brothers served.

Personally I applaud nearly everyone who managed to get out of dying over there. My only point in bringing up Jack's non-service is that he is a warmonger and thinks that those of us who are not are "doormats." There's some hypocrisy there, notice that? I level the exact same criticism at the ex-IMPOTUSx2 for his disrespect and denigration of those who served in our military, whether in peace or in war time. That filth Ted Nugent gets the same brand of "Blazing Hypocrite" on his unwashed ass.

"Why the little yellow bastards!"
Time Magazine 1941, following the attack on Pearl Harbour

Better to save one American life at the cost of even one hundred thousand 'little yellow bastard' lives.

Wouldn't you agree?

No. Now you're trolling.

hahahahahaha ... yeah. Pretty sure Doormat Owl wasn't on any front lines in Nam.
Let's see. She claims to be a 'Pacifist', but laments about others for 'not serving'.

Lying again, Jack? Show us where I have claimed to be a pacifist.

Why should we try to simplify reality if the little yellow bastard defenders would twist the simplified truth anyway?

Our emotions are informed by Christian, nationalistic and self serving principles.

If it is in our best interests, that is what counts.

No real Christians I know would refer to people as "little yellow bastards." Nor would they agree with you about self-serving principles.

Jack is hardly a warmonger -although he has some fucked up ideas like being in Syria was supposed to stop Erdogan's "cleansing" of the Turk/Syrian border.

But I respect:

HAHAHA ... some military action is Just. You are a Doormat because you have NOTHING you will fight for. (Don't try to Road Boss Dukkha on this, it's a Politics Forum)

As I said, don't try thinking. You're not good at it. If there is NOTHING that I will fight for, why I am here right now fighting with an Internet troll from New Orleans?

Doormat Owl. You won't lift a finger or spare a nickel to support a Surgical Strike on Assad after he kills women and children with horrific and inhuman outlawed chemical weapons, what would you call yourself? 'Pacifist' is probably too dignified a word for you.

I've known Jack for many years now, on this forum and from a prior one. His schtick is to accuse others -- usually women but he also includes men from time to time -- of that which he himself is guilty of. In this case, he has some mistaken idea that I am a pacifist and anti-ALL-wars. He has zero evidence for this, but since he is a misogynist who dislikes women, he has lumped me in with other women here in this discussion who *have* openly declared that they are pacifists. I am merely pointing out that someone who never served, whether in war or in peace, has nothing to say about those who are anti-war. Like most cowards, he'd rather someone else do the fighting for him so he can stay stateside and complain.

ya ya. i get all that. there is an INSANE poster that thinks we should have nuked Moscow was my point

After reading the long passage I posted, I admit to liking the idea more than I had beforehand.

But the end result would have made the U.S. the evil empire envisioned in the terminator.
