Mussolini was the worst sort of authoritarian imperialist, with visions of a new Roman Empire dancing in his head. He invaded and used chemical weapons on Ethiopia, he invaded Albania, Yugoslavia, France, Greece, Egypt, and USSR. If you take Hitler and Tojo out of the picture, IL Duce was the worst war monger on the planet in the 20th century.

I've been different things at different times.

A Democratic Socialist, a Libertarian & yes a Fascist.

What was enticing about Fascism was the strong economic growth with Nationalism.

I still think Fascism is better than Libertarianism or Communism.

But, I consider myself more of a Nationalist for Social Democracy.

While bad,, it's more of a George W. Bush than a Adolf Hitler.

Churchill & Truman
& especially Stalin all killed far more than Mussolini.

Truman & Churchill both probably killed 5 million a piece & Stalin 20 to 40 million.

You forget to include the amounts of death resulting from IL Duce's warmongering invasions of Yugoslavia, Greece, Albania, Egypt, USSR.

I am not going to indulge a debate whose premise is that IL Duce was better than FDR.

Fascists were too Totalitarian for my taste.

But, Hitler & even Mussolini beat FDR in economic growth during the era.

FDR a nearly Fascist guy himself achieved the fastest economic growth of any USA president in at least 100 years.

While FDR wasn't Fascist in the proper sense as he didn't have Councils micromanage the corporations.

Instead he micromanaged through regulations of the war time economy.

He also used Public works like a Fascist.
