just like with vietnam and iraq, it is easy to get our soldiers mired in a a country's civil war, exceedingly hard to pull the plug and leave when our "allies" do nothing to help themselves.

there is some blame with obama, but he had to consider our support for the afghans over the years- how would they be affected by our leaving? could they maintain power and peace?

just like with every president with vietnam- starting with Ike who started our involvement in that failed war.

I think everyone agrees we should be out. But Biden said the goals were met back then, so why did they wait until now when the Taliban took control of the country?

Taliban wouldnt allow it. so what choice did we have? The idea was to negotiate with Taliban , get them pacified and then integrate the government with the 2.. the only chance for us to leave the nation without a civil war
