LinkNone, but I also know that Europe has tried those sorts of taxes for decades now and the Rich either avoid them or leave the country for somewhere else. They haven't worked there, they won't work here.

I know you have a tenuous grasp of reality as it is, but...Um dude
You are so worried about people who have enough wealth to own a vacation home in NYC
Why you fucking loser?
They are a tiny fraction of the American people
They won’t miss a meal or any broadway plays because of this tax
Let them fucking move
It frees up housing huh
Dear fucking idiotI know you have a tenuous grasp of reality as it is, but...
I could care less about the rich. But I do prefer that government does what works, not what's fashionable on the Left, which never works. Taxing the Rich will not solve NYC's or NY state's money problems. History clearly shows that.

What does that have to do with a wealth tax? Wealth and income are different things.
I'll repeat, at its core, proposals like this (in the OP) are an attempt for politicians to look like they are addressing affordability issues without building new housing.Who says no new housing is the plan
He balences the budget
Set up services to make it more affordable for the working class to live in NY
And the right wing gets mad at him
They have no set morals
They only love their cult king
Ideas are meaningless to them
Success is meaningless to them
Only fat orange dying ass gets their approval
When you have housing standing empty most of the yearI'll repeat, at its core, proposals like this (in the OP) are an attempt for politicians to look like they are addressing affordability issues without building new housing.
Bullshit.None, but I also know that Europe has tried those sorts of taxes for decades now and the Rich either avoid them or leave the country for somewhere else. They haven't worked there, they won't work here.
There are two people in my building that live bi-coastal (SF/NYC) and own residences in both. These guys run tech firms so they hire a number of people in each city as well as contribute a fair amount to the tax coffers. That they aren't in each City 365 days a year doesn't change that. When you have housing standing empty most of the year
That is not good for the housing issue
So those people need to kick in more to help the city function
They don’t like it?
They can buy a house in Jersey
Then a year round resident will have a chance to buy it
Don’t want to live there?
It will cost you more to maintain
When you don’t live in a city you don’t end up paying all the taxes the residents pay
All the sales tax and such
You are not adding to the economy of the city
Just little dribs and drabs here and there
You love this city so much you buy a house here?
Then pay up
Very simple
Negatively? There are two people in my building that live bi-coastal (SF/NYC) and own residences in both. These guys run tech firms so they hire a number of people in each city as well as contribute a fair amount to the tax coffers. That they aren't in each City 365 days a year doesn't change that.
The idea that they are viewed negatively for doing so says more about us than them.
And you right wing idiots think balanced budgets are bad nowAnd he balenced the budget
Yeah
He’s kicking your ass
You're right Desh, people that create jobs and pay significant business taxes in a city aren't financially supporting democracy. My bad for thinking otherwise.Negatively?
They are merely being asked to support the city in which their assets lie
Your brain is stuck on an idiot mode
Financially supporting democracy is BAD in your brain little butterfly
Every Mayor in NYC is required to balance the budget. The federal government can run a deficit, NYC can't.And you right wing idiots think balanced budgets are bad now
Because a brown Democratic Party member made it happen
