Los Angeles Mayor Candidate Spencer Pratt Outfundraises Mayor Karen Bass With Over Half-a-Million Haul

You love to see this. In the David v. Goliath Los Angeles Mayor's race, Republican candidate and former reality TV star Spencer Pratt has raised more money than incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, according to quarterly filing reports.

It's less about the monetary amount (although that matters) and more about campaign enthusiasm. Nobody in their right mind wants four more years of Karen Bass, so the fact that a low-name-recognition newbie candidate like Spencer Pratt is outmatching Bass in fundraising is proof that momentum is on his side.

Pratt is also outraising progressive leftist Councilwoman Nithya Raman.

In 2025, Pratt lost his home in the horrific Pacific Palisades Fire, which destroyed more than 10,000 properties and killed 12 people. Pratt started using his substantial social media platform to expose the truth about the gross incompetence and malfeasance of Gov. Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, and demand they be held accountable. When recall efforts against Bass stalled, Pratt decided to run for Los Angeles mayor.

And what of being able to rebuild his home? Over a year later, Pratt, along with millions of others who lost homes in the Palisades and Eaton Fires, is in a holding pattern thanks to Bass and Newsom. Despite Bass and Gov. Hair Gel's purported claims, neither is doing anything to cut the regulations, red tape, and costs required to rebuild, nor are they dealing with the insurers who still have not reimbursed many residents. Thanks to Pratt's strong megaphone and the fact that Angeleans are fed up with their terrible leadership, Pratt's grassroots campaign has been building momentum, moving the needle.

What is also moving the needle is Pratt's shoe leather, grassroots engagement, and kickass social media. Pratt posted this video in response to a hit piece by the Los Angeles Times, questioning his eligibility to run for Los Angeles Mayor. Thanks to Bass' failures, after Pratt and his family lost their home, they were forced to move into a trailer on his parents' property in Santa Barbara.

Billionaires supporting republicans? Are we supposed to be surprised?

Why do Republicans seemingly always have to go to TV reality “stars” for candidates?

And it is LA, correct, plus they lack a real local history museum, don’t know what is with you left coasters
Go visit Heritage Hall on the USC campus with its amazing history of Heisman Trophy winners and National Championships. It's a national treasure.

Probability exists I’m never going to LA again, being from where I am, I am a walker, and LA is not a walker’s city, SF is, but most of anything out west is not, actually, after thinking about it, anything outside the NE is not

Might be interesting but I don’t know about the “national treasure” part, opinion of a fan

Billionaires supporting republicans? Are we supposed to be surprised?
The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me. This is the classic brain-dead belief so many morons like Creepy still cling to despite the truth.

Creepy and all the other drones have always assumed the evil billionaires were firmly on the Republican side. Like everything else these idiots believe, it's false. Obama was actually all about the billionaires. He helped them tremendously by implementing mountains of regulations that crushed smaller competitors. And of course, Obamacare was one of the biggest handouts to the rich in modern history. Remember Obama's awesome healthcare plan that was supposed to save us all by lowering premiums and solving the 'crisis' of 47 million uninsured?

Reality: Premiums skyrocketed, small insurers went out of business, and the big players gained more market share than ever. Obama's hero status aside, he transferred at least $800 billion, and likely well over a trillion dollars, to insurance companies. That number is nearly impossible to calculate accurately, especially after Biden jacked up the payouts even more with his 'Inflation Producing Act'.

Do I blame the insurance companies? Not at all. They did exactly what they are supposed to do, make as much money as possible for their shareholders. But Obama? He lied to the American people who elected him in order to expand libtard power. That is not what a president is supposed to do.

Fact for Creepy: In 2020, billionaires in tech and finance alone gave roughly $186 million more to Democrats than to Republicans. But once the libtards ripped off their masks and revealed the ugly scumbags underneath, billionaires, the middle class, and much of the working class all wanted to vomit. Now that you have shown your true nature, you will never get them back.

No, it's not surprising that after four years of Biden the Republicans finally captured the majority of billionaire support. They finally woke up, just as so many regular Democrats and moderate independents did. The Obama-Biden administration decided to go all in on the radical goals they have held for decades but previously kept quiet. They talked moderate while governing hard left, advancing their agenda in baby steps, you know, the old death by a thousand cuts strategy.

The libtards' real problem? The entire country, including the billionaires, finally realized the left is batshit crazy and extremely dangerous to the American way of life, freedom from tyranny, and equal justice. Now all you're left with are the evil limousine liberals and the straight-up Marxist billionaires. Good luck with that.

Why do Republicans seemingly always have to go to TV reality “stars” for candidates?
I don't know, maybe it has something to do with the 'experts' sitting in political offices in every shithole in America. I don't think it's reality TV so much. I have never watched a single episode of Trump's show, so for me, calling him a reality TV star is technically true, but he was and is known widely for building half of NYC's skyline against difficult odds, always flashing a hot babe on his arm, and plastering his name on everything. The show? A footnote at best in my eyes. I just remember seeing him popping up in the news all the time. A major difference back then? Hollywood and the media loved him, he was the equivalent to today's clickbait, Trump stories and appearances sold papers and magazines.

I know reality isn't what you're interested in, but pretending you are, I'd say it has a lot more to do with history and hope. The history proves that those with the most experience in government usually bring mostly negative qualities when you compare experience levels with actual successes vs. failures. In LA it is quite obvious that experience in government does not equal competence. People are in desperate need of competence.

The same was true in 2016, 2020, and 2024 on the big stage. People heard straight talk versus the canned speeches they've heard their whole lives. They heard promises to do things the 'professionals' would never dare say out of fear of focus-grouped topics to avoid (supposedly). As you know, people rolled the dice.

In spite of your delusional view of the world, it was a big success. I will sum that up by saying promises made, promises kept.

What you're seeing in LA is a little microcosm of that story without all the lawfare and spying that Trump had to overcome. The story has parallels at least, there are plenty of differences but at the core it's quite similar. People are rightly disgusted with the current crop of 'experienced' scumbags and they're willing to roll the dice and see if an outsider will keep his promises. Like so many liberals in LA are now thinking, 'what have we got to lose?' Not very difficult to understand unless you're a radicalized drone that lives in a comfy little bubble.

Yes, I heard all of this on the AM radio I stole from your mother. lmfao

Too funny

Trump did not “build half of New York’s skyline,” but you did get the “plastering his name on everything,” if you drive down the Henry Hudson you’d think Trump owned half of the affluent Eastside intill you found out he paid the actual owners to put his name on their buildings. And of course he had a babe on his arm, don’t you remember he “loves grabbing pussy”

And the “straight talk” is amusing, the guy who lies 24/7 unrepentantly now is supposedly the source of “straight talk,” in what world? In reality, individuals as yourself swallowed all Trump’s “straight talk,” it fed your populist grievance, and Trump played you like a French whore, gave you everything you wanted to hear, and today we see the consequences

I doubt Cuban Communist Karina Basera wins another election for mayor in California.
She'd probably get beat to death with heavy purses in FL.
They are not fond of her type, at all.

As expected, look what the moron chooses to comment on. An expression, an obvious exaggeration to make the point Trump made a mark on a huge skyline that few have in a very tough place to operate. Now I'll get shit like Trump didn't accomplish shit, his daddy did, which is laughable. Then, his bankruptcies are the big gotcha. Of course, anyone who actually understands business even a bit, knows those were Chapter 11 reorganizations, a very common and very legal tool in the brutal real estate and casino world. Trump smartly leveraged his name and promotional skills to keep deals alive and bounce back in situations where so many others in Atlantic City went completely under and vanished forever. And finally, I'll get one of thousands of articles written by 'experts' telling drones how stupid Trump was by losers that were writing stories of praise before he ran as a republican.

The point is, I wrote a lot of truth in the comment, and you couldn't touch any of it, because you know it would be a big pull trying. So you chose the skyline comment, and of course the 'grabbing pussy comment' like that wasn't something tame compared to what men say in locker rooms and bars and parties and while watching the game with a bunch of guys or in board rooms when the woman leaves the room.

Most understand it's a primitive way of bonding that has been a part of socializing since forever, literally. If women were honest, they're even worse. Oh, wait.......of course, you've never ever said anything close about a woman or a man, right? Silly me, I forgot you've likely never done any of those things I mentioned. Sometimes I forget who I'm talking to. You'll have to trust me, in private, people say things they've never done and never would. In fact, the more shocking, the better.

One thing that shocked me? Why didn't I hear a single libtard drone like yourself complain that NBC knew this crime against humanity happened and neglected to expose the crime for 10 years. You idiots should've been much angrier at them then Trump. They recorded a serious offense and did nothing. The shame!! Thanks for the opportunity to educate a few libtards. Just remember Chivy, Trump loves you.

Oh, he's back giving me his delusional version of reality again. Nothing triggers a libtard more than hearing 'promises made, promises kept,' lol. I get why you're jealous. You've spent your whole life believing and parroting the lines, yet you've never experienced a politician who actually kept his promises. Believe me Chivy, I feel your pain. Until Trump, that was the default for both sides.

That said, now that your side has finally ripped off the masks and started saying the quiet part out loud, they very much want the chance to keep their promises for the first time ever. They're openly saying 'give us power back and we'll do all the crazy shit we're promising.' Why? Because they're finally telling us what they actually believe, loud and proud. Obviously, I hope you idiots are denied that opportunity.

As far as your definition of Trump lies, I'm very much aware. You're right, he 'lies' all the time. Those of us not suffering from mental illness understand what I mean when I say Trump is likely the most honest president we've ever had, full stop. A large part of that honesty comes from his transparency on a whole new level. Another part is him actually doing what he says. His exaggerations are mostly him relentlessly cheerleading for America. It serves a positive purpose, both in creating a motivated, positive environment in negotiations and deal-making, and by driving libtards absolutely crazy.

Forget about using any comments about the war. Those who aren't morons fully understand why part of a president's job is to lie about the war to combat enemy propaganda based on information only a few people know. He can and should choose the best strategy he believes will harm our enemy. After the war, that all changes. So you'll need to go back further with your best shots. What will it be? He promised to lower prices on day one? He promised to end the war in Ukraine on day one? What will it be?

Toby’s out here calling his fanfiction transparency like he’s the Library of Congress. Man really said the most honest president ever and expected the room not to laugh.

Toby writes like a guy who starts a simple argument and ends up delivering a 12‑chapter audiobook nobody ordered. I swear he could turn a parking ticket into a State of the Union.

Timeless wisdom!

Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime.

Burn down his home and he'll replace you as Mayor...
