Happy Pride Month

how is an overtly gay character in a cartoon any differently than an overly heterosexual one when it comes to sexualizing?

Critics of prolonged, repetitive childhood exposure to ambiguous or non-binary gender role models argue that this targeted imagery can disrupt foundational developmental processes. This viewpoint highlights several key concerns regarding potential harm to the target audience:
  • Cognitive Dissonance and Confusion: According to cognitive development theories (such as Jean Piaget's), children naturally rely on clear, concrete categories to make sense of the world. Introducing highly ambiguous, fluid, or non-binary concepts during the formative years creates cognitive confusion, making it harder for children to establish stable foundational schemas.
  • Identity Disruption: Media which de-emphasizes biological realities can complicate a child's natural process of identity formation. If media continuously signals that a child's internal feelings might contradict their physical reality, it fosters unnecessary anxiety or dysphoria.
  • Erosion of Parental Authority: Mass media manipulation is that it intentionally bypasses parental guidance. By targeting children directly through relatable characters, media creators instill values and behavioral scripts that conflict with those of the family unit, effectively outsourcing moral and social development to corporate entities.
Should we ban all heterosexual displays including the nuclear family and heterosexual kissing, etc in media?

Should we?

Because they agree with your religious view that homosexuals don't belong the country.

I have no "religious view".

Plenty of people in non-Muslim countries agree with the view Ogles (or his comms rep) expressed, AFAIK.

Several dozen non-Muslim nations criminalize homosexuality. Penalties range from heavy fines to long prison sentences, and in some, the death penalty.

Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Tuvalu, Bhutan, Myanmar, Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

It's not about being Muslim. The Bible says gays should be killed. It's a religious thing that is especially active in Muslim countries, so o

It's not limited to Islam. Most of those are African countries - highly religious in either Islam or Catholicism. Caribbean is highly Christian. Some are middle eastern - duh - Islam.

Take your pick. I'm sure you'd be happier somewhere rights aren't as important.

It's not about being Muslim.

This you?

Yes, because this is America, not an Islamic, Sharia law country.

Maybe you live in the wrong country.

Bingo.

Some are middle eastern - duh - Islam.

None of the countries listed are Middle Eastern nations.

Take your pick. I'm sure you'd be happier somewhere rights aren't as important.

Homosexuals have the same rights any anyone else in America, don't they?

you are offering up view points from a certain 'religious inspired world view' as something that is more than that.

I get that generally right leaning religious people will hold the view you espouse above a that is the core of THEIR morality and how they want to LIVE THEIR LIVES. That is not the question.

The question is should they be able to IMPOSE it on others thru law? To force OTHERS who are not of that inclination to live to their views and morals when not doing so has no impact on them other then them being exposed to differing views and morals, which goes BOTH WAYS.

I would pose it this way. Do you believe it is because the US is a majority right leaning christian values country CURRENTLY that they get to impose such strictures through law and would you accept, under the assumption that the day after demographic change would make it other than Christian then the US would then pivot to whatever that majorities morals were (sharia or other) and you would not complain and accept that is how America needs to be? That the majoritarian view NEEDS to be imposed via law on the minority who must conform?

Nope.

Nothing to do with me.

The question is should they be able to IMPOSE it on others thru law?

I clearly stated that's not possible.

To force OTHERS who are not of that inclination to live to their views and morals when not doing so has no impact on them other then them being exposed to differing views and morals, which goes BOTH WAYS.

Irony abounds.

I don't believe you even know what you're saying here. It looks like s strawman argument to me.
