Happy Pride Month

how is an overtly gay character in a cartoon any differently than an overly heterosexual one when it comes to sexualizing?

Should we ban all heterosexual displays including the nuclear family and heterosexual kissing, etc in media?
Because one is perfectly natural, and the other is perfectly unnatural. Duh.

Set limits on sex in the books, not on relationships. "Two dads" books... if your kid comes home asking about that, you have an opportunity to teach values. If they never do ask, they will later learn their values from their friends... other 13 year old morons. Is this the place you want them to learn this stuff?
The way I see this is:

If the central focus of a book is sex, in whatever form, it is some version of pornography, be it photos, drawings, or text. The exception to that is books intended for specific scientific or other study of sexuality.

If you have LGBTPDQRST+- whatever in a story or novel and it is not incidental to the line of the story--that is you are pointing out someone's sexuality or preferences, not just including that as a part of the overall story's progression--then you are dealing with pornography. Romance novels are frequently pornographic. They include graphic, detailed, and often gratuitous sexual scenes and text not particularly related to the plot or story.

None of this should be part of a K-12 education program. None of it. There is no reason to stock a school library with it. There is no reason to include it in curricula.

If my kid came home and had any of the above, I'd have good reason to start a lawsuit against the school. Porn has no place in K to 12 education.

The question is should they be able to IMPOSE it on others thru law? To force OTHERS who are not of that inclination to live to their views and morals when not doing so has no impact on them other then them being exposed to differing views and morals, which goes BOTH WAYS.
Should YOU be able to impose YOUR morals on ME thru law?

Should YOU be able to impose YOUR morals on ME thru law?
no more than someone being Christian and praying or giving "praise to god", in public is imposing their morals on me. Or a heterosexual couple kissing on tv or in public is imposing their morals on me.

If you want to ban those acts across all activities as 'imposing their morals' then lets do it. If not, then we need to be consistent and allow gays to exist in the public the same way we allow heterosexuals and religious people to.

Any thoughts, @Damocles?

Explains why the LPUSA went to shit.

Well, it is interesting trivia. I guess this is where the more conservative gay folk go if they don't want to be ignored by the republicans by being part of the "log cabin republicans"...

The LPUSA is a pseudo Marxian group. Nothing "conservative" about them.

But I agree that a segment of the gay movement has come to the realization they can dominate the old libertarian party.

I don't give a shit what anyone does in the privacy of their bedroom. But the person who thinks sucking cocks is a source of pride has nothing to be proud of. It's not an accomplishment.
