I do not believe that socialism has to lead to anything. I do believe it is an important element to our economic system.

All is not lost.
Not by a long shot.
The people of the United States still stand behind their nation, their flag, their government, the Constitution of the United States, their State constitution, and themselves.
It is the people of this great nation that make up what this grand 'ole republic is; a free nation, filled with opportunity for those who seek it. It is a nation of laws by the people and their representatives, based on a constitution they wholly support, and a resolve that won't quit.
Trump knows this. He honors them. In speech after speech he honors them...the patriots of this great nation.
All across this great nation, it is those patriots out enjoying the fireworks, the flag, the history, and the visionary men who founded it and who continue to protect it and fight for it to this day. These are the same honored by Trump.
To all such patriots...I salute you. You are the very soul of what makes the United States a great country.
Among my other pursuits, I am a pyrotechnician. I put in the months, days, and hours making those fireworks, preparing those shows, spending those few precious minutes shooting them, for you. I do it for your love of the United States of America. I hear that cheer during and at the end of the show, and it makes it all worth it. It may take an hour or so to make a shell. A show has thousands of them. An amazing amount of work by teams of people like me goes into those shows. But that cheer of celebration makes it all worth it. I know you are celebrating not just the fireworks, but yourselves as a unique people, and the great nation that exists because of you.
I dedicate all of that to those few minutes at night in the sky for you, the true patriots of the United States. The future of this great nation itself.
I know you cannot be conquered. Of this I am absolutely sure of. My the skies above independence day continue to be filled with those fireworks, built for you the patriot, dedicated to you, and honored by you.
It brings a tear of joy to my eye to live among such great people.
Do not let the miserable people ruin your joy.
You have a unique heritage that is worth celebrating, for they cannot prevail. It is worth defending. It is worth protecting. These people hate the United States, they hate you, they hate me, they hate Trump, they hate the Constitution of the United States and all State constitutions.
No matter how much they hate, how loud they get, how murderous they get...they will not prevail.

What it has led to is failure. The entire idea that Communism is something that we can obtain is an absurdity after we have watched Socialism fail repeatedly and spectacularly. However, Socialism, according to the man himself, is the first step along that path. The workers unite, they give everything to the government, then Star Trek happens.

Well, I’m not, I believe that a proper mix makes a great nation. French fries lead to obesity, but you won’t get obese if you eat a moderate amount of french fries and exercise.

I again think you conflate things. You promote regulation and taxation along with welfare. These things are prevalent in capitalism and do not exist in socialism.
You allow others to water down a definition to make it sound better, then you use their language however incorrect it is, because no matter what; if it comes from the left it must be supported.
You don’t believe welfare and regulation are socialist? They certainly are not Capitalist.
I know they are not. I explained it earlier in the thread. Socialism is when the government seizes the means of production, jobs and not jobs are the same and are paid the same, that is not welfare it is a different animal. Taxation does not exist in Socialism, you are paid your share from the Treasury, no more or less than that, there is no need for the extra step of taxation. Welfare does not exist in Socialism, nor does taxation. Regulations do not exist in government owned corporations, they exist to keep capitalism healthy totalitarianism does not self regulate.
You use what you call "modernized" language, but what I have explained to you is watered down language to make the idea of Socialism less objectionable. It is an attempt to obfuscate and leftists very often will do just that because every idea however disparate or offensive must be supported if it comes from the left. Example: Nobody wants violent offenders to be released without bail, nobody does... but leftists will say they want it because the idea comes from the left and no matter how offensive or dangerous, if the idea comes from the left you will support it once you feel it is mainstream.
All of which is accomplished by capitalism....
