Mamdani is an enemy of Americans. Right now what he's doing is making allies of the poor so that they can go against the people with more money. It's communism 101.

Remember, in the July 27, 2026 press conference, when asked about preventing reselling or non-New Yorkers from exploiting the subsidized 30% discounts, in Mamdani's presence and at his introduction, Jeanny Pak (NYC Economic Development Corporation interim president/CEO) said operators was looking at ways “to make sure that we target New Yorkers, whether it be a sort of a library card-esque [system/thing], and also we manage who’s buying and that it’s focused on everyday New Yorkers.”
Despite standing b=near her as he said that, he did not interrupt her or offer to correct her.
Mamdani himself framed it as a program “for New Yorkers, not a program for people to be able to make a quick buck through reselling” and deferred to Pak for details.
It wasn't until later, after the clip went viral and critics highlighted the contrast with opposition to voter ID, that the mayor’s office insisted the planned city-run stores will be open to “everyone,” with no identity, residency, or income verification required to shop, and that no one will be asked to show ID. They claimed (after the fact) that any ID card would be a free, operator-managed membership/loyalty-style tool (available in-store) primarily to track and limit excessive bulk purchases for resale—not a residency gatekeeping mechanism.
The acid test will occur if and when any of these "stores" open.
I guess someone like James O'Keefe will let the world know if they are able to buy discounted groceries without showing any ID.
