I always buy a block of Romano and swap it in for Parm. Agree about the pre-shredded stuff although I buy mozzarella and extra sharp cheddar that way. Btw, I just returned something to Amazon at our Kohl's store, and they always give a coupon for a percentage off anything if you buy it that day. So I went to the candles and found some Yankee Spiced Pumpkin melts and bought a couple, can't wait to try them. My favorite autumn scent.
The beans were a hit. I almost tried one. I might try this preparation with brussel sprouts, so I'll eat them.

@ThatOwlWoman I was going through my recipes and found one your hubby might go for. That is, if he can handle a little herb and shallot in his sauce.

Hey thanks! That looks pretty good. I just bought shallots today. Going to make a white-wine-and-seafood fettucine dish this weekend. He'll eat that so this recipe might be a good one to try. But I'll use bacon instead of that pancetta. Thanks.

I'm hungry, and this makes me hungrier.

@ThatOwlWoman, does your hubby like bourbon? If so, he might like this chicken dish. Don't worry, it's limited on vegetation just for him.

Where does the bourbon come in? I didn't see it in the ingredients list.

There was a note after the recipe about adding 1/4 cup. You can add it with everything else or omit it.
It's probably good but we both loathe bourbon so I can't see buying a bottle just for that. Maybe a couple of those little airline bottles?

We've been watching a series of Discovery programs about extreme weather. There ws one about the EF3 tornado that hit St. Louis last year. So weird to see places we've visited there devastated. Last night it was about the Gaylord tornado in 22. Made me think how close that was to you guys. We did a beach wedding for a young couple in 2017 from Gaylord. I was the officiant; Mr. Owl the photog. Hope they were okay.

Well, scratch that recipe. Does he like rum or Calvados? You could use that instead. You should be able to get a small bottle if you order at a liquor store. You could also omit the bourbon. It is optional to the recipe.

They get tornadoes up here, but they tend to miss the area adjacent to the bay. Kalkaska has had some.

We were amused at the fact that I lived in the STL area for 55 years, he for 35, yet neither of us had experienced or even seen a tornado. We moved up here where they are exceedingly rare and have had two so far! One a few years ago took out some trees on our property but did more damage a half mile away. The other was last June or July. The funnel went right over the house. We watched the wind shifting from one side to the other as the trees whipped around and our ears popped. Then it formed a waterspout just offshore!

I found this recipe that I didn't know if either of you'd like. It's slightly spiced with aromatics and a touch of red chili, but it's cooled with coconut milk. I'd leave out the spinach and carrots for your hubby. Or can he handle some vegetation? You'd have to buy some yellow curry at Meijer; they have it in the ethnic aisle.

Sorry, I don't care for Thai food at all. :(

I thought you might have trouble with it; that's why I ask. I was thinking of trying one of these recipes because I have a pork loin I have in the freezer. I can't decide which one, though.

I love crock pot stuff. I've done half a pork shoulder, and pork loins, in it with dark beer, a garlic and mustard rub, sliced apples, and onions. Wonderful autumn meal.
