AI Conscious?

I suspect I do. How about you?

I don't know if I do or not. I also don't know why I would want one.

I've cared for (as a health care provider) people who were essentially "vegetables." No recognition of loved ones or familiar people, no ability to communicate anything other than fear or discomfort, no sign that anyone's home. Without higher functioning, do people in this condition have souls? Why do we continue to care for them until death comes and would do so even if it wasn't our paycheck? Do we believe that even when comatose, they have value? Is that value their soul, their spirit? Is it their humanity?

IMO this is what makes us different from most other living beings we share the planet with -- our compassion and willingness to care for those who aren't our family, who can offer nothing to our community. Do we do this because of souls?

yes,

you are a soulless banshee.

you murdering dunces have ended feminism this month.

congratulations, you earned it.

Yup. That is your blind guess...that you have a soul.

Nothing wrong with that. AND...you may be correct...

...which is a perfectly proper way to say, "You may be incorrect."

Better, in my opinion, to just say, "I do not know."

How to Recognize People Without a Soul – Dolores Cannon Explains the 5 Traits to Watch For

So why do you believe whatever bullshit you believe? Do you believe in magical invisible beings in the sky? Why?

So why laugh when someone has actually THOUGHT about the issue and realized they DON'T believe in invisible magical people in the sky like you do?

Genuinely weird.
I am an atheist. Just look at the rest of my posts in this thread.

In fact, you are making a blind guess...and insisting the blind guess is correct because you lack enough character and the ethical wherewithal to discuss this issue reasonably.
Oh, the irony. Your self-projection is noted.

It kinda is MY blind guess also, but I have the ethical structure to acknowledge that it is a blind guess.
... except when it isn't. You should learn basic logic.

Your bullshit runs deep. Great. I love when I am dealing with someone like you.
Your booooooolsch't runs deep; it's why I so thoroughly enjoyed raking you over the coals, and forcing you to flee to the hills.

Yeah, as Richard Feynman often said, "Knowing the name of something is not knowing that thing"...but I suppose if he were alive and participating here, he would agree.
Dishonest leftists never tire of pretending to speak for dead people who cannot be scrutinized under cross-examination.

I thought you just suggested that no one knows anything.
Did he state that, or are you once again totally mischaracterizing your opponent's position so that you can pretend to "attack" something.

Were you just being careless with you language...with your wording?
So many questions just to avoid revealing your own contradictions.

Not a smart thing to do in a discussion with me.
There is no such thing as a discussion with you.

I took statistics three times in College
If at first you don't succeed, try sociology as a major.

as part of my economics requirement.
... then you have no reason to believe in Global Warming.

As for your use of science...I have yet to see it.
In all fairness, you wouldn't recognize science if it were marching by in the "All Science Parade"

None of which leads to a supposition of "there is no soul."
Have you considered that one does not have to make an affirmative argument that "there is no soul" in order to reject the affirmative argument "there is a soul"? Might you be misconstruing "NOT there is a soul" with "There is NOT a soul"? You never could get it right with atheism. No rational adult would have any reason to suspect that you would somehow be able to get it right now all of a sudden.

You are not especially adept at insult, Asshole. Best you stick with that "science."
Your insults are lame. But...if it pleases you, continue to make a fool of yourself.

You...name dropping? C'mon.
Like dropping the name Richard Feynman? C'mon.

I have always owned you; I'm why you cower behind someone else's knee. You should not have bit off more than you can chew.

You do not care for anyone. That's obvious.

So why do you laugh when I point out that there is no evidence for the soul?

Genuinely curious. Also, nota bene, that when I say I've done the study that is informal. I'm not writing a fucking science paper (I'm already published in actual science journals in actual physical science), so let's drop that silliness.

But a lifetime of observation leads me to easily FAIL TO REJECT THE NULL HYPOTHESIS that there is no soul.

No explain why you think it is funny to doubt a soul when you, yourself, are an atheist.
