They are the nuttiestWhen she got locked in a nuthouse, it was a pretty solid clue.
I learned my lesson - don't marry someone because they look good in a bikini.

What did she stand for beyond equal rights?I believe that one can believe in the principle of individual freedom and not have to agree with all that Libertarians believe.
Just as I believe one can believe in equal rights for women, such as women not needing their husbands to get a loan, while not agreeing with all that Steinem stood for.
Nor do I believe she simply stood for equal rights. She stood for much more and she had every right to support what she did, but what she believed wasn't above push back.
If you are a libertarian You should love her.
But I find that most libertarians pick and chose, they don't stay consistent with the ideology.
I think on issues of women's rights, she simply argued a woman should be free to do anything a man is allowed to do and should feel free, if she choses, to exercise that right without societal pressure to do differently.
Seems some here are very strongly opposed.
How did she promote that idea?Lying because you were proven wrong?
How childish.
promoting the idea that marriage and family are lesser pursuits and should be deprioritized
You are citing an opinion piece as fact?ROFL
"Their" ideology as dictated by you.
That isn't the issue. Her deep and abiding love in life was killing babies. But when she wasn't demanding babies be slaughtered, she disparaged and degraded women who failed to bow to her radical ideology.
To radical leftism? Most who post here are strongly opposed to what you and the dutch socks promote.
Where do you get the idea that "libertarians" oppose child labor laws? Is communist China "libertarian?" Is Sudan?I think you are correct. I do not really consider myself a full libertarian, because I do believe in things like child labor laws, and that taxes are necessary to have a Country,
and some would say that my agreement to limitations on large corporations is not libertarian, but I think socially I am about as libertarian as it gets. The exceptions are that I believe in limits on gun ownership and I agree with some hate crimes laws.

Asked and answered.How did she promote that idea?
One of the most striking changes in family structure over the last twenty years has been the increase in single-parent families. In 1970, the number of single-parent families with children under the age of 18 was 3.8 million. By 1990, the number had more than doubled to 9.7 million. For the first time in history, children are more likely to reside in a single-parent family for reasons other than the death of a parent. One in four children are born to an unmarried mother, many of whom are teenagers. Another 40 percent of children under 18 will experience parental breakup.
Ninety percent of single-parent families are headed by females. Not surprisingly, single mothers with dependent children have the highest rate of poverty across all demographic groups (Olson & Banyard, 1993). Approximately 60 percent of U.S. children living in mother-only families are impoverished, compared with only 11 percent of two-parent families. The rate of poverty is even higher in African-American single-parent families, in which two out of every three children are poor.}
Jarod doesnt grasp anything.Asked and answered.
What do you not grasp.
Let's repeat from another source;
{
Steinem remains committed to destroying women, motherhood and thereby the traditional family. Steinem has succeeded beyond even her own expectations.
Twelve years ago Jacqueline Kirby, M.S. in Single-parent Families in Poverty wrote:

Everybody's first wife is psycho!My first wife was psycho. My current wife of 30 years, is perfect.
Jarod doesnt grasp anything.
Equal rights originally meant under the law. They were trying to remove legal discriminations. Now it has expanded to anything Gloria Steinem believed.What did she stand for beyond equal rights?
That's because we all think with our dick's the first time around. Some don't learn, but most of us do.Everybody's first wife is psycho!![]()
