I won't treat you as a reasonable adult as i KNOW you won't try to answer why it is society requires a multi-step process to operate a motor vehicle—including mandatory training, a written test, a practical road test, vision screenings, registration of the vehicle, and periodic license renewals and yet getting a gun is far easier...

Why society demands extensive background checks, training, and licensing to ensure public safety, such as electricians, contractors, nurses, real estate agents, or lawyers, etc for competency and safety check reasons and yet carry a gun requires far less.

Why society says if you want to handle pharmaceuticals, hazardous chemicals, or heavy machinery, which are restricted, tracked, we will require professional authorization ... but not for those wanting guns.

The actual best example would that I register with the state I live in and show my ID at that time. Then my name would be on a state wide database of people eligible to purchase a gun. Then I go to the gun store and purchase a gun and I give them my name. They look up my name on the database and find it. I dont have to prove I am who I claim to be so they can just let me walk out the door with the gun, right?

I am responding a second time because you make some interesting comparisons even though I think they arent accurate.

I think buying a gun is like voting not registering to vote. I dont have to register anywhere prior to buying a gun but if I want to buy a gun I have to register. I own multiple guns and had to show my ID every time I bought a gun.
