Majority Leader John Thune is holding a vote in the Senate to require voter ID nationwide in elections by law, a provision of the SAVE America Act

You would need to show it to an official before exercising your right.
And beyond that you're missing the point. People have said once you've registered to vote and proven who you are there in no need to show your ID again. So if I register with the state as an eligible gun owner I should never again have to show an ID to "bear" my arms should i?

So, once you open a bank account, by that logic, you never need show your ID to the bank again. No one might pretend to by you and access your account now would they?

Nah, guys like this would never do that... Would they?

Where? Which official? And when am I "bearing" my arms? I want to follow your rules. When am I "exercising" my right to bear arms?
I see you don't understand what a right is. This isn't about "which official?" It's about being forced to show ID in order to exercise a right. If you claim a right requires an ID before exercising it then the equal protection clause would require that every right could demand an ID before exercising that right.

Banking is not a right guaranteed by the Constitution. If you don't understand what a right is, you might want to keep quiet and not reveal your ignorance.

So, if I go out in the deep woods, all by myself, to use a firearm for practice, I need to show my ID to who exactly...
The designated government official that checks IDs before a right guaranteed in the Constitution can be exercised. You don't seem to understand that requiring ID to exercise a right guaranteed in the Constitution means that all Constitutional rights can require IDs before being exercised.

You have a right to travel too, and reentry into the US as a citizen is guaranteed. Try doing that without a passport. What you don't grasp is that Rights have limits on them too. You can't yell "Fire!" in a theater and call it freedom of speech, for example. So, it is perfectly reasonable that when you go to vote you need to prove who you are before you do it.

And you are simply proving your ignorance of what a right is.

The right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed in the second amendment. Keeping and bearing has nothing to do with purchasing. Purchasing is simply something you do prior to exercising the right. The actual right is the act of keeping and bearing arms.

The right to vote is the right most mentioned in the US Constitution. 14th, 15th, 19th, 24th, and 26th amendment. Registration is something you do prior to exercising the right. The actual right is the act of voting.

Where is the reentry into the US a guaranteed right in the Constitution? You don't seem to understand what a guaranteed right is in the Constitution.

You don't have to show an ID every time you use the first amendment. Why should you show an ID to use the 19th amendment?

But if rights have limits then you must agree that you could be required to show ID to bear arms.

In certain circumstances, yes, you have to show an ID to bear or use arms. When I go to a state run firing range, I show my ID to gain access and they record that I'm there.

By your definition of this, I shouldn't have to show an ID to register to vote. I can register and then vote, no ID required. That is just a reductio ad absurdum argument.

I'm going to ask you again, try to pay attention ADHD boy, if people aren't asked to prove who they are when they vote then how do you know who is voting and if you don't know that then how have you determined "...voter ID fraud is next to nonexistent,..."? Focus!
You don’t, but given voter fraud is minusculer why would you take away a person’s right to vote

Lovely straw man. Why can't you argue against my actual position? Registering to vote is not voting.

Can’t make disappear that which doesn’t exist
Won't work, anchovies. You can't make the evidence of Democrat election fraud just disappear.

* mathematical improbability
* videos of election workers filling out ballots and running them through the machine multiple times.
* changing election law ex-post-facto.
* changing election parameters without the authority to do so.
* signed affidavits attesting to election fraud.
* counting after hours with no observers present.
* machines mysteriously failing in republican held districts.
* people going in to vote and finding they already 'voted'.
* dead people 'voting'.
* out of jurisdiction voting.
* illegal aliens registered to vote and voting.
* demonstrable bugs in voting tabulators allowing fraudulent access.
* choosing electors without authority.
* conflict of interest problems, including an election officer running for office in that election.
* failure to conform to federal law.
* election officers overruling a state's authority.

I could go on, but you deny history anyway.
