Do the humanities need a rebrand?

He's obviously lying about ever having gone to college. Probably just a dental hygienist.

Nothing wrong with being 'just' a hygienist. Here in Anchorage they earn more per hr. than RN's and have regular hours. And yes they go to college and earn a degree. I know how important those "degrees" are to you.
Inversion fallacy, and you don't qualify as a hygienist.
With his personality he'd run off the patients.

The point is that the vast majority of dental hygienists get two year associate degrees from a junior college - and therefore dental hygienists like you shouldn't be running their mouths about what it's like to get a bachelor's degree at a university.

He can get the equivalent of a BA by checking out books at the library!

Pure comedy.
My cousin got a degree in Russian, and I checked her university's degree requirement which not only include advanced training in Russian language and grammar, but also significant coursework in Russian and Soviet literature, culture, cinema, poetry, politics, and history.

Only a dental hygienist would imagine he has the equivalent of a German degree because he can make inconsequential small talk with the bartender in a Berlin hofbräu.

Hey, quit badmouthing beer!

Yet what I said is true.
how many of those surveyed were from already mid upper class families and would have had the same life relative life result if college never existed.

if powerful families all played golf we would attribute their success to golf and golf would become a religion too.

oh wait.

So you think one needs a degree in ‘German’ to discuss politics and exchange jokes with friends and family in Germany, enjoy Bach, Mendelssohn, and Schumann symphonies at the Gewandhaus, read German language newspapers, and pass the Goethe-Institut B2-Prüfung. Now I see why you have so many “degrees”. You don’t have the common sense to read a comic book without a degree in literature or go to church without a degree in religion.
You’re one of those idiots that has to read the directions on a shampoo bottle before washing your hair .

You don't get a bachelor's degree in German by "enjoying" Bach, Goethe, Immanuel Kant, Wagner.

You get it by proving you are an accomplished student of Germany: its language, it's culture, its art, it's literature, philosophy, cinema, politics and history by sitting for exams and demonstrating accomplished competency in these areas.
