Accepting Nomination From White House Lawn Violates Hatch Act

Which has always been true of many presidential activities under Obama, Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41.........Giving an official speech ( like a graduation ceremony) during an election campaign is very political but paid for my taxpayers using many federal employees.

My understanding is that, the power of incumbency can be used within limits. Trump's turning the COVID briefings into campaign rally because people weren't going to his actual ones was just the beginning. Now We, the People, see him using the White House as his personal abode to use as he pleases.

The problem with breaking rules like this is that it's only a matter of time before a Democrat does exactly the same thing. Remember all the shouting in Congress about not using the "Nuclear Option"? That was broken and, in this toxic environment, will never be corrected. It's done. Now the Hatch Act is done unless Congress does something about it...which they won't.

Toadstool only cares about ppl who are utterly loyal to him. Talk back or disagree, and you are dead to him.

True, which explains why all of his kids were out there shilling for him. Nobody wants to be left out of the will. I'm sure each went home and told their spouse, "Just a few more years, honey. Just a few more years."

Hello Flash,

Got it. OK, so that is an admission that the Hatch Act was violated , coupled with an attempt to downplay it with whataboutism. I'm glad we agree last night was a violation of the Hatch Act.

Hello Nordberg,

I wonder if respect for the laws and institutions will return when Trump loses? He certainly shows no respect for laws. He bragged about breaking laws as a builder. His attitude carried over to the White house. Should Biden respect the Hatch Act. Trump has shown future presidents that laws can be ignored. Rightys who do not care that Trump ignores them will scream when another president does it.
Public employees are made very aware of of the Hatch Act. They are quite conscientious of staying inside the lines. Can they be charged now?

I would rather we actually go back to law and order than to continue with the fake law and order president.

He is the greatest nepotist and debt hiker to ever take the office.

Just who elected his family?

That wasn't in the PR in 2016 but we got them anyway.

Now they all act like THEY are running for office.

It's very inappropriate.

Awesome. So you admit to being a hypocritical and lying teacher. That's sad. Are most like you or are you a rare "gem"?
Now who's lying (and a Huge hypocrite)?;)
Let me know when you've spent some time at one of your local schools...then we'll chat....you've got oodles of spare time, after all:)

That's what We, the People have been asking for over the past 30 years.

In the 1990s when the Clintons did something unethical, the Democrats pooh-pooed it with "It's Legal!" and "Where are the convictions?" They continued accepting unethical stuff from Hillary all the way to date. It takes little steps to bring down a Democracy or Republic. Trump is a result, not something new-under-the-Sun. It's a failure of leadership from most, if not all, of our nation's leaders and, ultimately, We, the People.

You?

Why? What does that have to do with my points?

That's up for each locality...unless you are supporting using Feds to snatch people off the streets like Trump did.

Eventually everyone will find out which Trump "adviser" is pushing the Antifa and BLM conspiracies onto him...or facilitate Trump's own fantasies about them. Obviously staying in the good graces of super powerful people like Trump or Michael Jackson requires some good sycophant skills.

Regardless, Trump will claim personal victory where states do well and he'll blame it on the governors when they do badly. That's just how Trump rolls.

Well, I'm not lying nor am I a hypocrite....
What "points"? You're commenting/passing judgment on things you know nothing about....

Ummmmkay. It would make it a lot more believable if I hadn't personally been attacked with your lies and, as pointed out in the beginning here, you attacked both sides equally over a specific issue, not just when it was convenient.

Where do you think I'm passing judgment? On you for being a liar and hypocrite? Yes. Isn't it obvious? I was trying to be nice. :)

We have to wonder: if the violence helps DT politically, just who is initiating it.

You know nothing about schools, teachers, and, most importantly, my career...but you're passing judgement on all....

Um, aren't YOU passing judgment on what Dutch does or does not know? Why yes, you are. See, this is what happens when you assume every new person is a sock of someone else, usually a person you hate and/or envy. Your lies and accusations always come back to bite you in the flabby rear end. Now scoot! Breitbart has some more stories about the hero 17-yr-old patriot for you to repost.

Long before being selected, the Corruption-in-Chief tapped into the dark fetid well of angry, disgruntled, and fearful racist white men -- and their women as well. He painted himself as their voice, and he has repeatedly advocated violence in his screeches. Remember in 2016 how he told cops to bang perps' heads on the police cars? Urged supporters to beat up protesters who showed up at his screeches, even offering to pay their legal fees? The 17-yo shooter went to at least one of his rallies. Looks like mama was totally on board as well. I hope both of them enjoy prison.

Hello Althea,

He bored me out of my skull. I gave up and watched an old sitcom rerun instead. It was far more worthwhile.

The way he was winding up, I fully expected there to be fireworks at the end. Were there?

I'm not sure he had enough flags there. Maybe he should have had a few hundred more. Why wasn't he wearing one as a cape?
I didn't watch. No reason. I even fast forwarded past every speaker while watching the recap after the event.

I heard the ratings were awful. That's going give the orange buffoon diaper rash.

Sock puppet sex is like watching dogs fuck, Miss Information.

So gross, so hysterical. Now stop it. lol

I can't wait to see what the ratings are, especially compared to last week's DNC.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Agitators are always a good scapegoat but I like to look further. Sure, an agitator can light a fuse but always remember that fuse has to exist in the first place.

What do think would happen if a man shows up to HS football game and says "Burn, baby, burn!" and throws a molotov cocktail at a police cruiser? Do think the crowd would rise up with him?.....or subdue him?

The conditions have to be right for violent protest to ignite regardless of which side actually lights the fuse. Eliminate the reason for the fuse and there is nothing to ignite.
