California lands six universities in the global top 25

So you had a lot of fun parading around claiming I was never accepted to an upper-tier university, but then go curiously silent when I finally tell you I was .
Nope, never said that.
You admitted it.

You just wishing that I am an unrepentant liar does not make it true.
Just showed you lied. You lie a lot here.
.

Your link doesn't work for me,
Bet it does but on the off chance you're not actually lying again this will work.

but any fair minded person here knows that by JPP standards I rarely ever comment on the private lives of other strangers.
10 pages worth
Mainly because I don't give a shit about people here I'm not friends with,
10 pages of sharing mundane minutia w/ strangers.
and never lurk them to memorize their personal minutia.
You're so noble. Wish I could be as smart, interesting, educated, sophisticated, cosmopolitan and urbane as you.
:eyeroll:

Nope, never said that.
lol
Yes, you had a good time parading around and chuckling claiming I never was accepted to an upper-tier school.
You admitted it.
You're fucking up again.
I have stated I didn't have the high school grades to get into any elite schools as an undergraduate.

I didn't mention graduate school.

Are you aware graduate school is not the same as undergraduate?

My performance as an undergraduate merited me being accepted into a graduate program at UC San Diego, which the article in the OP states is a global top 25 institution. You're the one who bawled in this thread that I didn't get into any of these schools.
Just showed you lied. You lie a lot here

Bet it does but on the off chance you're not actually lying again this will work.

10 pages worth. 10 pages of sharing....Minutia w/ strangers!
You're fucking up again.
I repeatedly stated I only typically share personal anecdotes with my friends and pals here. You wouldn't even know about it unless you are lurking me and my pals.
👇
I am generally not here to share personal anecdotes with anybody but my friends.
You fucked up again and leaped to unsupported assumptions.
You aren't my pal, and I would barely notice you are here when I don't get notifications from you

I repeatedly stated I only typically share personal anecdotes with my friends and pals here.
You don't have friends or pals here. They're virtual. Not REAL LIFE. But if that's who you consider to be friends and pals that solidifies you as one of the Lonesome Losers.
You obviously have no friends in RL.
You wouldn't even know about it unless you are lurking me and my pals.
👇

You aren't my pal,
Nobody here is other than in your fanciful imagination.
and I would barely notice you are here
Good that I have your attention. You need serious reality checks.

You don't have friends or pals here!
So this is your tacit admission you fucked up... again.

You suck at both at reading comprehension, and in making assumptions.

The people here that I shoot the shit with I have known for a decade or more, we share our lives and anecdotes on FB, and chat to each other in private group DMs.

I think you should explain to the board why you are lurking me and my pals when we are just shooting the shit about stuff that has nothing to do with you.

So this is your tacit admission you fucked up... again.
The reason Moose keeps fucking up and getting everything wrong, is because he desperately wishes to believe I am a some kind of sleazebag liar.
But he and Matt Dillon repeatedly failed to show any lies because I try my best to be forthright.

I'm curious....what was the hurdle that kept you from completing your PhD?
I cannot speak for Cypress, but the reason I did not finish my PhD is that I had several jobs, and a family. I could have gotten a job in academia, but it would have been tough to support my family in a way they had become accustom. It was basically impossible to get a PhD part time.

That was 18 years ago, but the university is still willing, even eager, to take me back. My children are going off to college, and I have the money to support everyone whatever I do. I might get my PhD full time.

But again, it would have to be full time. I cannot part time it.

That's like saying you got a participation trophy.
Participating in the Olympics is a big deal, even if you do not get a medal.

Having a PhD is important in academia, but a masters degree is about as high as anyone outside of academia cares about. Even a masters degree is not absolutely necessary usually.

It costs a lot to live where there is a high demand to live.
Walt i guess you didnt read my previous posts did you? CA is 25th in population growth. Its the 3rd highest cost of living behind Hawaii and massholeachusetts and you know what the best part is? Both Hawaii and massholeachusetts have faster growing populations than CA. More people would rather live in more expensive places that CA. Stop talking stupid.

CA is 25th in population growth.
There is a limited supply of places to be in California, so the market reacts by making them expensive.

For instance, there are only so many people who can live on Billionaires' Row in NYC, and yet there are millions more who want to own a condo there. That drives up the price so high they call it Billionaires' Row.

More people would rather live in more expensive places that CA. Stop talking stupid.
You are assuming growth is solely about the number of people who want to live there. Growth is also about the limitations on growth.

I get it. I got my PhD and I know the grind. I was lucky in that I had solid Research funding so I was in better shape. I'm just taking the piss with Cypress because he's such a dreadful intellectual poser.

I do not remember what the stipend was on my PhD, but it was on the upper end of things. My family was used to several times more than that. There is no way to support a upper middle class family on a PhD stipend.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to have kids while trying to finish the PhD.

You're right about the masters being the working degree in a lot of areas. The area I studied the MS was considered the working degree but the PhD was available and fun to pursue. My wife stopped at the MS and I went on for the Doctorate. Then there was about 5 years of serial postdocs.

LOL. Personally I couldn't give less of a shit what you think about ....wellllll....ANYTHING! So by all means. Judge as you like.

Don't overestimate your impact on the world. :)

Good advice. Fortunately, I wasn't aiming to make an impact on the world. Just on you. Which I see I did well. Thanks for playing.

If it makes you feel like you scored a victory then by all means enjoy. You mean nothing to me and your opinions on things beyond your skill set don't interest me. YOU don't interest me.

Yet you continue to reply. Methinks the trollkin doth protest too much. lol

Kids in private school...

As you get older, further into education, there are other things pulling you away from education. It does not seem to get easier...

UNTIL YOU RETIRE!!! I am hearing about more and more people who retire to be university students. It sounds crazy, but is becoming normal. I am trying to figure out my retirement(I am 55 years old), and think I might work on projects part time, and go to school. It might change, but I just cannot see myself fishing or whatever else normal retired people do.

A PhD is almost always worth it, if possible. You know how to do research, and have discovered something new. If you do go back to academia, a masters will get you a job at community college, where a PhD will get you a job at a university (there are exceptions, but do you really want to depend on exceptions?)

It costs a lot to live in a state that has been destroyed by the democrat party.
It will cost a lot more to live in CA, as the high earners continue to move out.
California keep creating more high earners than move out. And high earners who leave California on average lose earning capability. SO basically you are saying that Democrats create high earners?
