CNN HAS FINALLY GREW A SPINE

Another ad hominem

So the six corporations who own the media in the US are all owned by Democrats?

So you tell us seeing your comrade can not, are the six corporations who own the media in the US are all owned by Democrats?

So, CNN won't let people decide for themselves what to think about the President and what he says. Instead, they'll be the gatekeepers of truth and provide you the "correct" answers to whatever Trump says after thoroughly scrubbing and parsing it into sound bites that match their political views. Viewers can't be trusted to have the correct views.
May I interrupt you here.....We not gonna do this, T.A. I am old enough as are you, when the news was a genuine purposeful, informative and honest venue for information. Nobody questioned it authenticity or truthfulness, we didn't question elections, we didn't question presidents truthfulness....all of which we may have scratched our heads, but none of us went bat shit fuckin crazy like mf's are doing today. So we not gonna do this. TRUMP IS A HABITUAL LIAR PERIOD POINT BLANK...T. A PLEASE DO BETTER, YOUR BETTER THAN THIS

TV news thirty, forty, years ago was a good thing. Newspapers worked too. Since then they got increasingly slanted to the Left and today it's hard to simply read a story or listen to one without wondering how much spin, borderline lying, and stupidity is in it.

This obligation to truth may be a worthy goal but not sure its something that is always followed.

And a number of younger journalists have pushed back on the traditional notion that they are supposed to be this detached neutral observer simply reporting facts. It's not that truth no longer matters per se, but their identity and lived experience are very much at the forefront of their reporting.
All journalistic organizations have truth as their goal and on the whole make reasonable efforts to report it. Otherwise they are not journalistic organizations. Your comment about "younger journalists" with their "lived experience" is gobbledegook. As for "younger journalists", they are rarely free agents. They work for a living in news organizations that provide customary standards for news reporting.

Here's an article from 2020 that speaks to exactly what you are saying is gobbledegook:

Journalistic Objectivity Isn’t Realistic, Young Reporters Say

“In reality, nothing and nobody is neutral.”

The New York Times had a major battle over this:

Inside the New York Times' Heated Reckoning With Itself

I could go on with plenty of other reporting on this. The times are changing.

You’re confusing column writing with news reporting.

I don’t think I am. The Teen Vogue article is specifically about young journalists questioning journalistic objectivity. And the New York Magazine piece is about a major internal battle at NY Times about objectivity and neutrality. This isn’t about opinion columnists.

View attachment 94063Its about fuckin time. What purpose does it serve the American people, to have this lying piece of shit hold court, simply to get attention and bellow out lie after lie after lie. What purpose does it serve? CNN back in 2016 did nothing but give Trump free campaign exposure every time the bastard opened his mouth, they like all the major networks placed their lips on his nutts and never stopped until now....Morning Joe went to see the bitch out of fear, they was so locked on his nutts, A Trump press conference, is a complete waste of fuckin time. All of MSM should put Trump and all of his administration permanently on IGNORE!!
MSN
Not CNN. CNN is leaning more and more Right.

You're not. Columnists are no different today. Most write slop with a severe political bias. Here's an article in another thread I demolished for just that. The author claimed "experts" and she cited three within the article, all radical-, far-Leftist Black females with an agenda that matches the author's (a Black female) own politics. Yet, she tries to pass this crap off as objective analysis.

Yes, it is about opinion. It’s about the left side of The New York Times front page and the right side, about occurrences in the war in Iran and perceptions related to them. And so on for other things in the news.

Did you look at or read the Teen Vogue piece? It’s pretty clear what’s being said there.

And the article about the NY Times was from 2020 so this was well before Iran.

These are young progressive journalists pushing back against what many might say are traditional (read: white male dominated) journalistic standards.

So does this validate the above claim that TV news coverage is owned and controlled by Democrats?

Yes, all news isn’t objective, never was, but to infer all journalists report with a partisan view is an over generalization

I wasn't responding to who owns or controls the media, and I didn't say all journalists report with a partisan view. I was responding specifically to Martin's claim that what I said about younger journalists questioning traditional notions of objectivity and neutrality was "gobbledegook."

Go read the Teen Vogue article I posted. This board is full of Boomers, you grew up with a certain expectation of journalists. There are young people pushing back against some of that, and its even happening at places like the New York Times. That's what I'm speaking to.

This is a separate question as I don't watch cable news.

Someone ITT said CNN is moving more and more to the right. I did a double take on that. But I suppose understanding the context matters.

If a station went from zero right leaning voices to one, that could be considered moving to the right I suppose. If you add a couple that could be be considered more and more to the right.

Do you watch CNN? I did a google search and it said it had a couple of right leaning pundits. I don't know if they have their own shows or are just part of group panels.

So I'm just curious your thoughts. If one is used to seeing panels where people all share the same viewpoints (whether on the right or left) adding diverse voices could be a little surprising.
