Algae in the reflecting pool​



The continued presence of green algae in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool remained a topic of conversation among visitors and tourists to the National Mall this weekend in Washington D.C. The algae appeared less than a month after the reopening of the pool following a $34 million renovation. Park officials told WJLA recently that the algae is on its way out following adjustments to the pool's ozone levels.

Now, since no JPP leftist appears to have complained when the Lincoln Reflecting Pool developed an algae problem after Obama's $34 million restoration, why is the current algae bloom supposed to be different?

It would be nice to still have journalists......we would know the history of the algae problem.....for instance was it there before the Obama era changes?

The guy is right and wrong all at once. What needs to happen to fix this is circulation of the water at a reasonable and steady rate along with aeration. Maybe add a few autonomous cleaning robots that collect all the muck that gets on the bottom.

That would destroy reflection, but I dont see why it could not be done at night. Also you could have a system where water is at night passed through a UV or maybe ozone system. Given that the system put in during the Obama era is already badly damaged that would almost certainly be expensive.
