First victim of political prosecution of 1/6 receives sentence

Taking part in an effort to prevent a constitutionally required activity of Congress, one necessary for the peaceful translation of power it’s not next to nothing.

Even you America hating people have to admit that.

I’m not seeing where the guy did much to prevent anything. Never mind the fact nothing was prevented. He was essentially ‘present’ while the bad stuff was going on. Some of these people wondered into the Capitol *or were allowed in* and they are being hunted down like they are Osama bin Laden.

It’s clearly a political prosecution in this and some other instances.

Sorry, but a cop letting them in doesn’t absolve them of a crime, it just implicates the cop. Dukkie should know this.

actually, that is obviously wrong.......in order to be charged with breaking and entering it would have to involve some breaking and entering........if someone did let them in, that charge would fail.....

He broke into our capitol and stopped our congress from doing their job. People died. He got off easy for apologizing. The rest will get longer sentences. Let the rightwing shitheads sit in prison and think about what they did.

you do realize the only death related to the incident was the protester murdered by the insane policeman, right?.....

If you crawl through a window that someone else broke you can't be charged with breaking and entering? Where did you get your law degree from?

it was a protest you idiot........if he's getting eight months every protester who seized the Capital Hill District in Oregon is due the same.......

Who was charged with breaking and entering on Jan 6th at the Capitol? The correct answer is no one. I guess your license to be stupid is not transferrable to anyone else.

Whether they were let in by a police officer or not does not prevent them from being charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building.
Whether they were let in by a police officer or not does not prevent them from being charged with disorderly conduct in a restricted building.
Whether they were let in by a police officer or not does not prevent them from being charged with Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building.
Whether they were let in by a police officer or not does not prevent them from being charged with Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building.
Whether they were let in by a police officer or not does not prevent them from being charged with Obstruction of an Official Proceeding.

I was responding to a specific post......I guess your license to be irrelevant is guaranteed to be used.......

He attempted to, I agree he was not successful. Just his being there postponed the Congressional act he was trying to prevent.

Peaceful protests are one thing, attempting to prevent a constitutionally required act of Congress, and the constitutionality prescribed method for the peaceful transfer of power are another.
