Mamdani wants rent control on apartments across NYC. That is government dictating prices to property owners.
Mamdani wants tenant associations that are empowered with the backing of government to take over property the owner cannot keep to a pristine standard regardless of cost.
Mamdani is putting in government run grocery stores with below market prices on goods subsidized in part by taxes paid by competing privately owned grocery stores.
Free public transit financed by taxing the snot out of the rich.
I think those are self-obvious from news reports to date.
In the above examples, government is dictating to private property owners and businesses how they can run their businesses, and using the power of government as a stick. In the case of landlords, he is in many cases, instituting conditions that will ensure the landlord fails and the property becomes publicly owned and possibly tenant run.
With grocery stores, he wants low prices and doesn't give a shit if private competition is forced out of business.
Those meet my definition entirely.

So give me a list of ACTUAL socialist things he HAS DONE and if you cannot then he does not match your definition of being a socialist (as it is not desire without action) and at best you can say 'he might be in the future'.
