Satire for Sanity
' I come and stand at every door
But none can hear my silent tread
I knock and yet remain unseen
For I am dead for I am dead

I'm only seven though I died
In Hiroshima long ago
I'm seven now as I was then
When children die they do not grow

My hair was scorched by swirling flame
My eyes grew dim my eyes grew blind
Death came and turned my bones to dust
And that was scattered by the wind

I need no fruit I need no rice
I need no sweets nor even bread
I ask for nothing for myself
For I am dead for I am dead

All that I need is that for peace
You fight today you fight today
So that the children of this world
Can live and grow and laugh and play'

Assholes.

Do you spare any thoughts for Japan's countless victims?

We'd not have had to nuke them into submission if they had not been on a genocidal rampage.

Assholes.

What don't you understand about 'War'?

Educated people, after all, understand very well about war crimes, like deliberately annihilating large civilian populations

If the US wanted to 'deliberately annihilating large civilian populations' they would have targeted Tokyo. Like say, Germans bombing London.

They needed something to threaten with, obviously. The Blitz was clearly criminal (like the Allied bombing of German civilian centres), but child's play compared with the mass-murder of Japanese non-combatants.

I know that it's illegal- which you clearly don't.

'Illegal'?

"Cyrus II of Persia, commonly known as Cyrus the Great, and also called Cyrus the Elder by the Greeks, was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, the first Persian Empire. Under his rule, the empire embraced all the previous civilized states of the ancient Near East, expanded vastly and eventually conquered most of Western Asia and much of Central Asia.Wikipedia"

Attacking military targets is not a war crime.

The atomic bombs were dropped on military targets.

I've not studied the UK's bombing of German cities, but I'm sure they were after military targets.

but child's play compared with the mass-murder of Japanese non-combatants.
Attacking military targets is not in any way murder.

Needless to say, soldiers aren't non-combatants.

"Darius I (Old Persian: , romanized: Dārayava(h)uš; Persian: داریوش‎, romanized: Dāryuš; Hebrew: דָּרְיָוֶשׁ‎, Modern: Darəyaveš, Tiberian: Dārǝyāweš; c. 550 – 486 BCE), commonly known as Darius the Great, was the third Persian King of Kings of the Achaemenid Empire, reigning from 522 BCE until his death in 486 BCE. He ruled the empire at its peak, when it included much of West Asia, parts of the Caucasus, parts of the Balkans (Thrace-Macedonia, and Paeonia), most of the Black Sea coastal regions, Central Asia, as far as the Indus Valley in the far east and portions of north and northeast Africa including Egypt (Mudrâya), eastern Libya, and coastal Sudan.[2][3]"

I honestly can't tell if you're being ironic, but it's a very well known fact that the Americans firebombed Tokyo, killing tens of thousands.

It's not well-known, since it's rarely brought up by the people who complain about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

When it comes to WMD's and tactics in a war, a nuke is as extreme as it gets.

If you can rationalize & justify the use of a nuke against a civilian population, you likely have no threshold at all for moral or immoral behavior in a time of war. Basically, anything goes.

That's correct. War is illegal under international law.
That is incorrect. There is nothing illegal about a just war of self defense.

Deny it, please monkey, so that I can use your arrogant ignorance to educate others.
Consider it denied.

This is such an unbelievable lie, it strains credulity for me to think even you believe it.
It's not a lie. The atomic bombs were dropped on military targets.

This has zero relevance to my post. Someone said "if the U.S. focused on killing civilians, they would've bombed Tokyo."

The fact is, we absolutely did. Repeatedly.

They probably talk about Hiroshima and Nagasaki a lot because the deaths from those 2 bombs DWARFED the deaths from thousands of bombs dropped on Tokyo. And, people falsely claim the Japanese surrendered primarily because of the atomic bombs.
