No Peak Yet. Up To 3000 Deaths Per Day Coming; 200,000 New Cases Per Day...

The immune system doesn't 'fire' anything. It does not attack your own tissue either. Learn how the lymphatic system works.

I had to decades ago.

In the case of severe COVID ‘infections’ it’s not the infection that kills people; it’s the immune system attacking other parts of their bodies in response to the infection.

Ironically, people with hyperactive immune systems may be more at risk. But it definitely explains why COVID symptoms are mild to non-existent in the vast majority of the population.

Nope. The immune system does not kill people unless a hystemic reaction occurs that is severe enough to be fatal (pretty damn rare).

Judy Woodruff: "We do have these apparently two new grim forecasts today. I want to ask about the CDC report yet. We haven't seen all the numbers. The White House is saying it's not their numbers, but they are talking about, by June 1, 3,000 deaths a day. They're talking about up to 200,000 new cases a day.

This is — this is the wrong direction."

Laurie Garrett:

"Absolutely, Judy. And it's a huge, explosive growth they're predicting.

And it's basically — if you look at the distribution that they are imagining, it's really the Prairie states, the sort of Mississippi Valley, and the Deep South states.

And it seems, I think — though we don't have access to the raw data that they are working with, but it does seem to coincide with these outbreaks that have been occurring inside of meatpacking plants, nursing homes, Veterans Administration hospitals, that have claimed large numbers of workers in those facilities, but haven't yet generalized into the larger community.

And I think they're projecting that there will be generalization, that a typical — an infected meatpacker, for example, might then infect their family members, some of those family members may infect local storekeepers, and so on.

So I think they're imagining a pretty explosive set of growths, all in fairly small remote areas, and, in many cases, rural counties."

Explosive forecasts

The president said on April 16th that the USA has 'passed the peak.'

BBC

The president was terribly wrong.

We have not passed the peak yet. It is getting worse. The worst is yet to come.

And now it is moving from the cities into rural areas, moving from Democratic strongholds into Republican ones.

How will that affect our politics?

An expected result on the path to Herd Immunity.

So Trump is wrong about that. You should straighten him out. Along with the CDC, WHO, and every single authority on pandemics. But I'll believe some schmuck on the internet. LOL at you.

Agreed but it's curious to see Trump lying by saying there's a pandemic when all the best conspiracy theorists say there isn't one.

In the end, the truth always wins out. Trump predicted 15 or less dead...then he kept raising the numbers for a few months. No surprise he did it again.

Predictions are notoriously in error.

It's not. It's not an epidemic either. The numbers just aren't high enough.

According to who exactly. LOL at you. I think you'll win the award for today's stupidest post.

I'm sure glad we have the worlds formost expert on pandemics to tell us that everyone is wrong.

:rofl2:

Yes I can. Go look at the numbers.

According to Worldometers the number of Serious/Critical keeps going up.....this is mostly because those on ventilators often stay on them for weeks or months before they die. We have 17,000 Serious/Critical at the moment, according to some estimates 80% will never get off alive, and many/most who do will be messed up.

Why don't you.

We have plateaued and haven't had any drop at all. Your CDC numbers are late and incomplete.

It's irrational to try to converse rationally with an irrational person. In the end, the cool heads of historians will note the numbers and classifications. IMO, it's going to be on par with the Spanish Flu unless a cure or vaccine is developed and mass distributed within another 12 months.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

An expected result on the path to Herd Immunity.

It is not yet even known if immunity can be developed.

Antibody tests reveal the existence of antibodies. That has nothing to do with immunity.

No guarantee at all.
