about 150k Saudis foreign students abroadWith all the Salafis running around loose, I have a negative view on how much Saudi Arabia will 'modernize'. Now, I'm sure the 6,000 Royal Princes that were educated in the West will do fine.

MSB is 33.. that's not middle aged.
I see that you have bought into ignorance and propaganda.
ISIS declared war on KSA about 5 years ago and have carried out over 3 dozen suicide bombings.. plus there have been many gun battles with ISIS in Arabia.
Many countries don't have a constitution..
Westerners make a lot of noise about "infidels".. Christians and Jews aren't infidels and pagans are to be left in peace ..
Foreign labor is well paid.. Foreign workers flock to Arabia because they make enough money to support their extended families in Egypt, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh etc.
There is NO death penalty in Arabia for adultery or homosexuality.
whether its saddam or someone else savages are gonna savage.
Salafis is hardly unique to KSA ( and I'm not attempting to differentiate between Salafi and Wahhabi)
'AQ core' in Pakistan is al Qaeda, and so are the AQ "affiliates" worldwide.
ISIS is not AQ -but both are salafists . There are many many salafi mullahs in Europe as well
KSA is not an expeditionary army.
The mountains would be too hard to control even if captured. Even if they held the coastal cities-
They would become a target of guerilla warfare
OK. A little timid with that one? I would at least expect you guys to take Aden. Isn't that a Saudi-sympathetic stronghold?
How about the impending Shia Crescent across your northern border? Any thoughts of maybe supporting the Kurds?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ...
Dude, you're killing me here. Have you considered Stand Up Comedy as a sideline? hahahahaha Man, this is good stuff!
Anyway, back to Yemen, why haven't Saudis sent in ground troops? I'm puzzled.

Anbar/Najaf Provence is "the Tribes" in Iraq, only Shi'a border with KSA are the marsh arabs of south Iraq
I know his father and he too was a reformers as was Abdallah, but the people are ready for more. MBS is right on the money.
Well it's been described as KSA's Vietnam..but KSA did not want this war..infiltration was killing their border guards.Yes. All that you say is true.
That's why they just bomb the place indiscriminately.

The young crown prince is a nice man.. I spent about ten days around him when he was a teen assigned to a woman in our party who was in a wheelchair.. He was very kind and patient towards her.
You follow the money.

Of course there is more to it then this, but from what I've read the Houthis ( Iranian proxies in the war) have been firing missiles towards Riyadh for a couple years
None of this justifies destroying the old city of Sann'a...and I'm sure I'm missing many pieces of the puzzle
"Yemen civil war: Parents forced to watch their children starve to death as war topples country of 29 million into famine
Nearly a third of Yemen’s population – 8.4 million people – rely completely on food aid or else they would starve. That number grew by a quarter over the past year"

Al Hasa, in Saudi Arabia's Gulf region (Eastern Province) on the 25th parallel north, is one of the largest and oldest oases in the Middle East and its settlement and use goes back to antiquity. The Marsh Arabs speak the same Gulf Arabic as al Hasa.. The Marsh Arabs by Wilfred Thesiger is real interesting.. He studied them for decades and used to come to Arabia to lecture.
He thinks they migrated about 5,000 years ago.

the LAST THING we need is a US presence! enough of the interventionism! It's been going on for a long time. North Yemen and South Yemen. The Western world wants a stable Yemen, or at least a stable Aden, the city that controls the entrance to the Suez Canal. We (the US) smugly sit across the way in Djibouti and watch it all play out. It's not a 'KSA Vietnam', no Saudi wants to die. It's a 'Dresden'. Massive carpet bombing of the entire region, killing everything and everyone.
KSA has propped Yemen up for many decades with healthcare, hospitals, clinics, colleges, job creation, gasoline and food... What's happening now is a shame, but KSA built a security fence in 2001-2 and moved Saudi villages back from the border by 20 kilometers.
What Iran is doing in Yemen is insane.
