The Deplorable Blue Collars, truckers, farmers, smelly Walmarters & bitter clingers

WRONG. Most taxes taken out from a paycheck go to pay for government bureaucrats. Only a tiny portion (by comparison) is taken out to support SSA. NONE is taken out to support schools, except for States with income taxes that fund their schools (usually a very small amount is taken in that case).

You really should look at your paycheck sometime. You really should pay attention to your withholding rates sometime.

Bigotry.

I meant also local taxes.

SOME goes to pay for the salaries
Bureaucrats.

Not mosr.

I don't care if you work, but the American taxpayers should not have to pay for your living expenses if you are able-bodied with no minor dependents. I bet I give more to charities than you do--a sign of real empathy opposed to parlor pinkos.

You're thinking about this the entirely wrong way, and I know why. It's because somewhere along the line, something happened to you in your job that made you think your entire value was intrinsically linked to your employment. So that happened and it made you think that the only way you have value in this world is if you have a job. So basically, you were abused and instead of confronting the abuser, you redirected that confrontation inward and came up with this idea of how you can evaluate your self-worth because your abuser made you think that way.

That's what this is all about; YOU.

I don't believe you give to charities for any reason other than making yourself feel better by taking credit for things that should be paid for with taxes.

The totality of all charitable giving in the US doesn't even surpass Medicaid's yearly budget. And that includes "charities" like the NYC Ballet and the Mormon Church.

I have no clue. We both know government responses all over the globe are inadequate because the problem is beyond our ability or knowledge to fix. I only know Hillary is the typical politician (same as Republicans) who will lie and cover her butt. For you to think she is any different is destroyed by your partisanship. She has a long history of such behavior.

You do have a clue, Flash, because we lived through 4 pandemics during Obama and never once did we have to shut the economy down.

Stop being dumb. It's a bad look.

So Flash, here's what you do constantly...

You screech and whine and bitch about other people making assumptions and following those assumptions through to their conclusions. But then you turn right around and make ludicrous assumptions of people you have nothing to do with, have no contact with, and know nothing about because you have it in your head that the only way to value yourself is through labor. So what that means is that if you aren't employing your labor, your person has no value or worth. And that makes it so much easier for you to get comfortable with the austere nonsense you mistake for virtue.

Your moral compass is broken, and I don't think it can ever be fixed.

Personal insults and erroneous projections always replace substantive debate when you run out of serious arguments.

That money does not cover stock market losses.

Ummm...yes it does. They're made whole. We aren't.

Your strong dislike and prejudice against wealthy affects your understanding that the wealthiest took the biggest losses in both 2008 and 2020.

Between 2008 and 2020, the top 1% have doubled their wealth.

DOUBLED.

Since when is doubling your wealth a loss?

The recovery from the recession was slowed because the top 20% account for 60% of consumer spending and this took a long time to get back to normal levels.

First of all, why did we end up in this situation in the first place? Two reasons: Tax cuts and deregulation. Secondly, we got back to normal levels a quarter after the recession ended in 2009, and during Obama's term, he achieved quarterly GDP grown in excess of five percent several times, and as of today, Trump has yet to top Obama's best quarterly and annual GDP growth rates even with a massive tax cut that you said would increase GDP by "letting people keep more of what they earned".

YOU SAID THAT.

Now, don't you look fucking dumb...

I don't believe you give to charities for any reason other than making yourself feel better by taking credit for things that should be paid for with taxes.

While you don't give to charities because you want government to take the money from people who make more than you do. That is pure laziness. Your effort to help others is limited to ranting on political forums.

If you think Social Security is the only thing that pays for Retirement?

Maybe you forgot Medicare & Government pensions.

As usual, completely distorting anything I say. I did not defend anybody. I made the simple statement that the wealthiest lost the most in the stock market crash. The issue was not how much they still have but how much they lost.

Your post supported my statement--thanks.

Flash, you've been defending billionaires this whole time...trying to elicit sympathy for the people who have doubled their wealth since 2008, and who are still sitting on piles of treasure they will never spend, like Smaug.

The amount of medical care, medicarw, social security & government oensions.

Definitely make most of our taxes go towards the elderly.

This no lie.

Of course it is, but that does not negate my statement that the wealthiest lost the most in the stock market losses in 2008 and 2020.

You can only make that claim because you're using "the most" to refer to gross dollars, and you haven't taken into account the fact that between 2008 and 2020, the top 1% doubled their wealth.

Ummm...yes it does. They're made whole. We aren't.

BS. What program paid people from their stock market losses?

And, what was the income limit? Did only wealthy people get reimbursed or all the 95 million Americans in the market? I didn't get any of that money.

Most were made whole when the market gained back all its losses and more.

Funny but true. A person sits at home getting SNAP and Medicaid and is healthy, able-bodied, and has not dependents to take care of. The government asks that person to work a certain number of hours per week. That is somehow cruel but people who work and pay for these benefits are the bad guys.

This is the view of those who want to see the world in simplistic terms and thinking they are the good people and others are bad and the cause of any problems in the world. This allows them to feel good about themselves and vent their anger at others.

Yes, the former CEO of McDonalds worked so hard fucking a subordinate, that he got a $30M golden parachute.

Hard work, right?

You think austerity is a virtue because at some point along the way, someone told you that you're worthless without a job, and you believed them because your compulsion is to not question authority.

You confuse facts with partisan sentiment. It is not a "defense" (or attack) on anybody to say they lost the most in the stock market crash.

However, unlike you, I don't wish ill on anybody. I'm not the one who called for people to die or be killed. That is empathy?

Personal insults and erroneous projections always replace substantive debate when you run out of serious arguments.

It's not a projection, Flash...I don't value myself by my labor...I value myself by my person.

At some point in your life, someone (likely an authority figure) abused you into thinking that your only value in this world comes from your labor, and you believed them when they said that because you were too scared to confront them on it.

So every day since, you've had to repeat that mantra in your head, because you can't conceive of any other way to value a human life except through labor.

That's fucked up.

They may still have plenty left, but they still suffered the biggest losses. The rich might be better consumers.
But,
Bezos, Buffet & Gates will never spend all their money.
