Not surprised rural areas are well stocked. And as you noted, you got a back up if there ever was a shortage at the store.

There was actually a few packages of TP left at my grocers.

GF went to store today. Ollie's, Walmart and grocery store and had no problems finding what she wanted. She did say stores only let a limited number of shoppers in at a time, but none of the stores were crowded. She said there were slim pickings at the meat coolers in the grocery store, but nothing sold out. We generally go halves with her sister on beef and pork. We're stocked with meats for a while yet.

I'm 'Blending' more.
I now use 'Chobani' Greek Yogurt.
Banana, Frozen Fruit, Milk, Yogurt, and Honey.
(I stopped using Wheat Germ and am now thinking about adding Flax seeds)

Here in upstate NY there was an initial panic and the meat departments were bare. Now they're fully stocked. 'Meat' includes chicken/fish, as well as beef. Not just pork.

We'll see how this progresses over the weeks. This is more a case of Smithfield not taking proper precautions with respect to simple mask/glove usage. Extend that further, and see that S. Dakota refused to take precautions across the state. Now they're going to learn a lesson about how the virus spreads geometrically.

I very rarely eat meat and when I do I purchase it at an artisan butcher who sells only free range and locally raised (upstate NY) but look at what Trump and his crime family have done to the USA. I actually approve of less meat consumption but not due to these circumstances

The isles that were hit the hardest were ... the bottled drinks ... the paper goods ... and the frozen dinners & ice cream coolers.

I haven't needed butter since this all started, so I don't know if my stores have it or not. With stories of dairy farmers dumping milk, I'm surprised butter is disappearing. It is weird.

But then I haven't been able to find styrofoam plates for a month.

So low on ground sirloin and beef? ... how's the seafood looking there in the Fla. stores?

I've been trying to buy enough food to last 2 weeks (or even a month) at a time, so I don't check all the sections I normally do, each time I go.

I went to the store today. Lots of bare shelves, but mostly a reduction in selection, not item. I bought all the meat and dairy I wanted plus eggs. Cleaning items were greatly reduced too. No hydrogen peroxide in the pharmacy area, but still plenty of bottles of rubbing alcohol.

Yup. That's when I discovered that they carried beef hearts. I use it chopped up in my meat sauce for zoodles (which also tastes better than wheat pasta).
Tastes better, cheaper ($3.29/lb) and full of collagen since it's a muscle. Give it a try.

The stores seem to be having the most difficulty keeping non perishables in stock. Strange.
