A comprehensive introductory survey course of German history does not begin arbitrarily in 1871, anymore than a survey course of American history starts on July 4, 1776.
You specifically responded to me complaining that there's is not much German history because it doesn't start until 1871.

A tacit admission I never mentioned a class.
You sure don't know much about Germany despite claiming to have such an affinity for it.
I have no affinity for Germany. But I do prefer Franken, alpine towns,
and Leipzig to Houston, New Orleans ,Midland, Nigeria , Angola or Los Angeles.
No accredited American university would give you a German degree because you can understand conversational German.
Of course not.
University students who earn German degrees are expected to have knowledge of the entire German tradition, including German literature, history, culture, cinema.
Good for them. Why would I want a degree in German?
LOL, the Holy Roman Empire was not different tribes speaking different languages. You're thinking of the Goths of the age of Roman antiquity.
Wow. You actually think the Germanic people were only the Goths.
The principalities of the HRE were all Germanic speaking people loosely united under the Holy Roman Emperor ever since the Middle Ages, and ultimately united under the leadership of the Germanic state of Prussia in 1871.
Thank you for telling me what I already know.
You obviously didn't even know what the HRE until this thread.
Ninth grade history class
Your barely adequate skills in conversational German is not even remotely close to being equivalent to a German degree from an accredited American university.
I know that. But I know more about living in Germany than any professional student like you were does,
The university requires you to become knowledgeable not only with the language of Germany, but its history, literature, its politics, its cinema, culture, and philosophy.
I wonder if they teach nuances like what day it’s appropriate to throw your garbage into a garbage bin.
You're supposed to graduate as accomplished student of Germany, not just someone who can order beer and sausages at an Oktoberfest in Hamburg
How does that relate to me? I never majored in German.
You stated a class on German history wouldn't start until 1871 and therefore there is "not much history there "
Post where I stated that .

Does an American history class only start on July 4, 1776?
Changes the subject. An admission of defeat.
Why do you have to pretend to be an expert on
everything?
E.g., I’ll acknowledge you know more about Russia than I do. You don’t see me googling Russian topics just to pretend I know more about Russia than you do.
You have a serious inferiority complex.
